Stephanie Flores, CAE
- An accomplished association professional with over 20 years of experience in non-profit management, Ms. Flores earned her CAE designation in 2007. During 15 years at the helm of CASSS, a leading scientific society in the field of biopharmaceutical development, Stephanie played a pivotal role in transforming the organization into a thriving and influential organization, delivering steady growth and enabling CASSS to offer an even broader range of resources, networking opportunities, and industry insights to members.
- After leaving CASSS, Stephanie launched Flores International Association Solutions to work with associations and their boards to hone their strategic direction and establish organizational priorities and objectives to drive growth. She focuses on applying business analysis and industry best practices to organizational strategy and technology solutions.
- Stephanie is an active volunteer within the association community, including previously serving as board member and the chair of the board for California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE). In addition to CalSAE, she is active in the American Society of Association Executives and the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives. Committed to life-long learning, Stephanie received a Business Analytics Certificate in August 2023 from eCornell, Cornell University’s External Education Unit.

The International Cytokine & Interferon Society (ICIS), is a non-profit organization of over 1,200 scientists devoted to research in the fields of cytokine, interferon and chemokine cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and the clinical use of these biological response modifiers. Bringing together scientists across many different research disciplines, ICIS is the premier organization promoting the field of cytokine & interferon biology, impacting all aspects of medicine and leading to new treatments in autoimmune diseases, cancer, infectious diseases and inflammation. A common ground where scientists interested in all aspect of cytokine biology can join and work together to better human health.

Karen Bertani is a highly experienced strategic leader with a strong background in non-profit organizations. With a focus on collaboration and achieving meeting goals, she has a proven track record of designing solutions that align with strategic objectives. Before launching her own meeting and event management company, she held various senior roles, including director of strategic global engagement and knowledge sharing at a science-focused organization and meetings manager at a leading company in the aging industry. Her strengths include meetings management, strategic planning, achieving goals, global engagement, design, budget oversight, and general operational management. She excels at building relationships with stakeholders, including volunteers and vendor/sponsor partners.
